Hi All, Well the weather is certainly being kind to us and long may it continue.

This month we are looking at Birchwood Lodge, in the small village of Kincraig, Kincraig and its neighbouring communities of Alvie, Insh and Feshiebridge lie at the heart of the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorm National Park. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty containing some of Scotland’s most treasured landscapes and rare wildlife.

Birchwood Lodge has 5 bedrooms and can sleep up 12, with an Outdoor Hot Tub, Log Stove and stunning finish this really is one of the perfect family gathering points.

Kincraig is situated perfectly 6 miles south of Aviemore and 6 miles north of Kingussie, Kincraig is home to the Kincraig Wildlife Park run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland where visitors can discover Scotland's wildlife as well as endangered animals of the world's mountain and tundra regions. Home to Polar Bear, Arctic Fox , Armur Tiger and much much much more. Birchwood is only a few miles from Loch Insh Watersports Centre where you can Windsurfing, Sailing, Kayaking and again much much more or even if you just fancy a meal in the Boathouse Restaurant On the shores of Loch Insh, recently voted one of the top five views from any restaurant in Europe.

Kincraig is perfectly situated for a variety of sports from golf, gliding, canoeing, clay pigeon shooting and of course mountain bike trekking. No visit to this area would not be complete with out going to Alvie Estate and really enjoying the Highlands at its best.

Kincraig is home to its own post office, general store, pub and hotel. A visit to the Suie Hotel/Bar or even the Ossian ensures you fully understand the term Highland Hospitality.

April Blog a Lodge - Wolf Lodge

Hi All,
Well what can you say about the weather, FANTASTIC.

This month we are looking at Wolf Lodge situated on the edge of the 18th century village of Carrbridge inside the North West gateway to the Cairngorm National Park.

Wolf Lodge is a unique Scandinavian A frame Lodge with a Hot tub, Sauna, Log Stove, Wifi and Full sky package, this is by far and away one of our most popular smaller properties most suited for couples and small families it can sleep up to 6 but we really only advise for 4, but if you have friends visiting for the night it has the double wall bed for occasional use.

Carrbridge is only 7 miles from Aviemore but can feel a world away from the faster pace at Aviemore, In Carrbridge we have the Carrbridge Hotel and the Cairn Hotel with a fantastic pub atmosphere you are made to feel very much part of the local crowd with wonderful pub fire and real ales.

Carrbridge has its own 9 hole golf course which is the perfect place for a quick round in the morning to shake off the real ales and local whisky. Or for those more intent on playing there way round the Highlands off to one of the dozens of other courses in the local area.

Carrbridge is a hub for Birdwatching, Cycling, Fishing and Walking.
For cyclists the The Sustrans Inverness - Perth cycle route #7 comes right through Carrbridge, passing right by The Slochd on its way. This is part of the national cycle network for those interested in more adventurous, multi-day excursions.
For those that love fishing the River Spey and Findhorn are only a few miles away and the River Dulnain flows through the village, Carrbridge offers convenient access with some of the best Salmon Fishing in the country.
For walkers in the village itself there are forest and riverside walks.
with Ellan Woods and Dulnain River walks on hand for that perfect day out and off course for those for serious walkers the Cairngorm Mountains are close by for those that love a challenge.

Carrbridge has also a Village coffee shop and local crafts shop that sells fantastic home baking, it is only 26 miles from Inverness and 31 from Inverness Airport.

For families in Carrbridge don't miss Landmark Visitor Centre this is a day out to remember.

Close by to the Villages of Boat of Garten, Dulnain Bridge and further on to Aviemore and Grantown on Spey this wonderful Lodge is perfectly situated for all the best of the Cairngorm National Park and no day would be complete without returning to the Lodge to sit in and soak the world away in its own Hot Tub with a wee glass of bubbly

For more information on Wolf Lodge give us a call on 01479 812266 and hopefully we can get you booked up for this unique Lodge.

March Blog a Lodge

Hi All, Well the snow has deserted us for just now but it does mean for those of you who love Biking and Walking that you can get up here and enjoy the very surprising high temperatures we are having just now, looking at 10/11C this weekend.

This month we are Looking at Heather Cottage 3 bedroom sleeping up to 6, one of our No Pets properties for those of you with allergies. Heather Cottage has 1 double en-suite, 1 twin room and a lovely bunk room for the kids. It is at the North end of Aviemore very close to the Speyside Way linking Aviemore to the Boat of Garten, a haven for cyclists and walkers alike.

An added extra to Heather Cottage is the family leisure pass(2adults and 2children) for the Aviemore Highland Resort Leisure Arena, which hosts a 25m lagoon pool with giant flume & wave machine, luxury spa, gym, arcade and 3 storey soft play maze. For larger parties Heather Cottage is only about 3/4 minute walk from Eagle Lodge combined both can sleep up to 14 in 7 bedrooms.

Heather Cottage is also close to the Dalfaber Golf & Country Club which also has a swimming pool, 9 and 18 hole golf course(New Spey Valley Course) and also indoor and outdoor tennis, inside it has a children's soft pay area and live entertainment most nights in the only place really in the Village suitable for children at night.

Heather Cottage really is a family property and a trip to the area would not be complete without going to the Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge or The Highland Wildlife Park in Kincraig.

Aviemore really is becoming the Outdoor Activity capital of the United Kingdom/World, with companies like Outdoor Discovery out there you can really achieve some excellent holiday moments.

But no trip to Aviemore would not be the same without taking advantage of some great Highland Hospitality and Heather Cottage is only a short walk to the main street of Aviemore where you can take advantage of some great food/wine, with trips to The Cairngorm Hotel, Winking Owl, Papa Rocks and Roo's Leap.

For more information and availability for Heather Cottage and any other property please call us on 01479 812266 and we would be delighted to help.
